What you’ll be doing:

Essential Functions:
- Companion/Sitter/Household Management
- Provide companionship and respite services for family
- Perform homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathrooms
- Medication Services
- Assist with medication reminders that the client self-administers
- Meal Preparation
- Food Handler's Certificate - an Asset
- Able to cook meals tailored to client's diet choices
- Provide a safe environment for client while cooking (sharps, clean floor, etc.)
- Social Skills
- Energetic and outwardly positive person
- Capable of supervising physical and mental exercise routines
- Able to creatively encourage client's use of meditation courses

What we're looking for:

Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
- Successful completion of a Provincial-approved Personal Support Worker course
- At least six months experience as a Caregiver (in homes or facilities)
- Has a Police Vulnerable Sector Reference Check or willing to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
- Ability to do light-cleaning and lifting (transferring clients, repositioning, and laundry)
- Ability to speak another language is an asset
- Obtained Food Handler's Certificate and able to cook well-balanced meals is an asset
- Driver's License (G) is an asset
