Job Title: Urgent Need Home Health Aide
Location: Benton Harbor, MI
Job Summary:
We are urgently seeking a compassionate and skilled Home Health Aide to provide immediate in-home care for clients in the Benton Harbor area. The ideal candidate will assist clients with daily living activities, personal care, and ensure their well-being and safety. This position is perfect for someone who is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with physical limitations, chronic illnesses, or those recovering from surgery or injury.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide mobility assistance, helping clients transfer from beds, chairs, or wheelchairs.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health status to family members or medical professionals.
- Prepare and serve meals while ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Assist with medication reminders and basic health monitoring.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or social activities as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Home Health Aide, CNA, or similar role.
- Ability to provide patient-centered care with compassion and patience.
- Strong knowledge of home care procedures, including personal care, mobility assistance, and infection control.
- Ability to lift and assist individuals with mobility challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and assist clients, sometimes up to 150 pounds with assistance.
