Job Title: Urgent Hire: Caregiver

Job Summary:
We are urgently seeking a compassionate and reliable Caregiver to provide immediate in-home care for clients in the Kalamazoo area. The ideal candidate will assist individuals with personal care, daily living tasks, and companionship, ensuring their well-being and comfort. This position is perfect for someone who is attentive, empathetic, and dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for clients with physical limitations, chronic conditions, or those recovering from surgery or illness.
Key Responsibilities:

Personal Care: Assist clients with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.

Mobility Support: Safely assist clients with transferring, positioning, and mobility using appropriate techniques or equipment (e.g., walkers, wheelchairs, lifts).

Companionship & Emotional Support: Provide companionship and emotional support through conversation, engaging activities, and monitoring clients' mental well-being.

Meal Preparation & Feeding: Prepare and serve meals, adhering to dietary needs and preferences. Assist clients with feeding, if necessary.

Medication Reminders: Ensure clients take their prescribed medications on time and according to their care plan.

Household Management: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Health Monitoring: Observe and document any changes in clients' physical or emotional health, reporting significant concerns to family members or healthcare providers.

Transportation Assistance: Accompany clients to medical appointments, run errands, or attend social activities, ensuring safe and timely transportation.

Emergency Response: Act quickly and responsibly in the event of an emergency, following established protocols and contacting appropriate healthcare providers or emergency services.
Requirements:

Experience: Previous experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or CNA is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Compassion & Patience: A genuine commitment to helping others, with the ability to provide care in a kind and patient manner.

Physical Strength: Ability to assist clients with mobility, including lifting, transferring, and supporting individuals with limited mobility.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients, their families, and medical professionals.

Reliability & Flexibility: Must be dependable and punctual, with availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet urgent needs.

Driver’s License & Reliable Transportation: A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation are required for travel to and from clients' homes.

CPR/First Aid Certification: Preferred but not required; certification training can be provided.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Must be capable of lifting and assisting clients who may weigh up to 150 pounds with assistance.
