What You Will Be Doing
For children and adults with developmental disabilities, personal assistance covers a wide range of daily support. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Helping with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Light housekeeping, laundry, and errands
- Mobility support and safe transfers
- Medication reminders
- Transportation to appointments, school, or community activities
- Companionship and support during recreational and social activities
- Implementing communication strategies as directed by parents or therapists
- Protective supervision for clients who need a watchful eye throughout the day
What We Are Looking For
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, whether professional or personal. Babysitting and family caregiving count.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help
- Reliable transportation and a valid California driver's license
- Ability to pass a background check
- Registered Home Care Aide (HCA) with the State of California, or willingness to register
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus but not required
