Job Overview
Seeking experienced, compassionate, and reliable Personal Care assistant to join our team! As a Personal Care Assistant, you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal care in a private home setting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while making a positive impact every day.
Compensation: Starting pay of $15-$16/ per hour
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health, observing changes in condition; report findings accurately to family and supervising healthcare professional.
- Support medication administration through reminders, following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare/ Warm nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs to ensure safe transfers and mobility support
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces
- Document patient progress, communicate effectively with supervisory nurse to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license required, Personal Transportation required Car insurance/Registration required.
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes for a minimum of one year is required
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism highly valued
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to always protect patient confidentiality
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids such as wheelchair, walker or cane
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with clients, and families,
- Basic knowledge of personal bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Compassionate attitude with a passion for caregiving and supporting individuals
