We are seeking a reliable, patient, and compassionate caregiver to provide 1-on-1 care for a senior male client living with late-stage dementia in Guatay on Friday mornings. This schedule provides consistent weekly hours to allow his primary family caregivers to attend a support group.
While the client is physically stable and mobile, he requires hands-on assistance, prompt prompting, and close supervision for hygiene and meal routines due to cognitive decline.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Toileting & Incontinence Care: Prompt and escort client to the bathroom hourly. Assist with pulling down/up pants, encourage toilet use, change briefs if wet/soiled, and ensure proper hygiene and skin care (recent history of UTI, so maintaining cleanliness is critical).
-
Meal Preparation & Assistance: Prepare breakfast/lunch. Food must be cooled off, chopped into small bite-sized pieces, and served directly in front of him to encourage recognition and eating.
-
Companionship & Safety: Provide calm, supportive supervision while family is away for 5 hours. Maintain a structured, safe environment.
Home & Environment Notes:
- Friendly dogs and roaming cats live in the home. Dogs will be secured/locked up during your shift.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Active Home Care Aide (HCA) registration with CDSS (or willing to register).
- Completed Live Scan background check.
- Negative TB test result dated within the last 90 days before hire.
- Prior experience working with seniors with late-stage dementia or Alzheimer's.
- Experience with adult incontinence care and safe hygiene practices.
- Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently in a rural home environment.
Live your best life possible while helping others live theirs.
